I recently heard from someone who had a very specific goal of losing 15 pounds in a month. She had an important outing coming up and she wanted to look her best. She wanted to know if this goal was possible after a month of Medifast meals. And, she wanted to know if perhaps there was a way to reach this goal sooner so that she could order the individual foods rather than the package. I will tell you my opinion on this in the following article.
The Amount Of Weight That The Average Person Will Lose After A Month Of Medifast: To figure out this calculation, there are a couple of places to look. You can look at the information that the company provides in its literature. You can look at other people’s personal experiences. And, you can look at the clinical studies that have been conducted on this diet.
The Medifast company literature gives the range of 2 – 5 pounds lost per week as a range that most people find themselves in. And, many forums and weight loss blog posts will indicate that this is reasonably accurate (although like with most things, there are some who do better than this and some who do worse.) In terms of clinical studies, you can consider the John Hopkins study that was conducted over 16 weeks. The men in the study lost an average of 69.71 pounds. The women lost an average of 47.5 pounds. One of the greatest “urban legends” of the weight loss world is the General Motors diet, also known as the GM diet. This is a 7 day eating plan which is rumored to have been developed by GM in the 1980s to help workers lose weight. As far as I know, GM has never admitted to actually producing such a plan.
As of now, there is no official General Motors diet, there is no one who claims ownership or responsibility for this program, but it has still remained popular and well sought even after all these years.
There are several strict rules in this diet:
No alcohol is permitted
You have to drink a lot of water, at least 10 glasses each and every day
You can have water, soda, sugarless black tea, and sugarless black coffee. On the 7th day of the diet you’re also allowed fruit juices.
The program itself is a structured eating plan of 7 days. According to some sources, you can repeat the 7 day cycles as many times as you like it is all up to how much you need to lose and how well the diet agrees with you.
